Fun Friday with Make Like a Tree and LEAF

We have spent the last couple of weeks jumping in piles of leaves, karate chopping and kicking the leaf pile and trying to ride a razor through the pile(very interesting watching Mommy try). So before you bag up your leaves...gather a few for some great leaf fun activities this weekend!

Leaf drawing and doodling with metallic sharpie markers from The Artful Parent...so simple yet so much FUN!

Pretty high on my cute meter are these cute fox leaves!!! I found this on Pinterest from a foreign blog that I could not understand so I don't have a link for you with instructions...sorry!

I am personally IN LOVE with this leaf lantern from 5 Orange Potatoes!

Here is a different take on the traditional leaf rubbings...use tinfoil from homeschoolmama3

And here is an activitity for the month of December to lead you up to Christmas day...just wanted to let you all begin on it now. Wrap 25 different Christmas/holiday/winter themed books and let your children pick one to open each night to read for bedtime. I am super excited about this...my toddler son LOVES TO READ! I rounded up 10 books that would fit the theme that we already had in our collection and I found 5 the other day at our local Goodwill...just 10 more to go!

Fun Friday with Finger Crafts

I found some funny "finger drawings" on Pinterest the other day...so I thought why not have this Fun Friday be about "finger crafts." Enjoy :)

The ever classic finger puppets!!! Check out Oh Baby for these cute puppet patterns!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...edible finger paints from Martha Stewart! Do they come in chocolate and Dr. Pepper flavor for me? I wouldn't get any painting done...

What the heck?!? Finger knitting!?! I had no idea...how cool...from Housing a Forest

Finger Friends from favecrafts...holey moley spicy guacomole these are AWESOME!!!

Can you say INGENIOUS!!! There was no link to this picture to give credit for...but it looks like you take a piece of blank paper, squirt some finger paints on the paper, using painters tape you tape over some plastic wrap over the paper and viola...you have mess free finger painting!!!

And finally...what inspired this post today...the cutest finger drawings you may ever see!!! And creative too...check out a gallery of creative finger drawings at bit rebels for your inspiration!!! ***Warning...a few of the finger drawings in the gallery may not be suitable for some children...I recommend browsing through it first to determine which ones you would like your kids to see***

Fun Friday with Free Fun

Just a few fun and free ways to have fun this weekend!

1. Let your kids dress up in your clothes! I loved wearing my step-moms red high heels and some of her jewelry when I was young.

2. Have a snacktime picnic on the living room floor. On a blanket and all!

3. Play a board game at breakfast! Enjoy your toast and orange juice while going up and down "Chutes and Ladders."

4. Make a pair of binoculars out of toilet paper rolls and string.

5. Pull all of the dining room chairs into the living room and make a fort with blankets. Perfect space for story time :)

6. If your kids go grocery shopping with you...have them make these fun fruit bags out of old t-shirts with you from every{nothing}wonderful

I would love to hear any other "free" and fun ideas you all have out there...please share them in the comments and have a great weekend!
